TK’s Winter Tomato Soup

I made extra sourdough bread ahead of the storm and boy is my family grateful! But what I really wanted as the temperatures dropped to the teens was a warm therapeutic soup. I plan to make French onion, my dad’s traditional vegetable and protein soup, and possibly a butternut squash soup… But what I decided to start with as I opened my freezer was a homemade tomato soup. Yummy!

To do this I took out the huge bag of fresh tomatoes I had frozen in season last year. I cooked them to thawed, added some fresh red peppers, an onions and blended. Then I added a little heavy cream and fresh garlic. And a little jalapeños for extra kick.
I cooked this in the crock pot and made grilled cheese sandwiches with my sourdough bread. Oh my!
